Our Trip to Woodstock!

It’s hecka late but I couldn’t wait to blog these photos. It’s been quite some time since I blogged, so let’s get right to it.

It’s also been awhile since Hanna and I have traveled, and we were getting the travel bug. My friend Daniel’s birthday was coming up and we had all discussed going on a short road trip. Looking for the cabin feels and some mountains. Our first thought was Woodstock, New York. Hanna and I had been there before so Dan and Sarah had looked to us for suggestions. We had found an Airbnb, wasn’t a cabin, but fit everyone, and to be honest, was way too big for five people.

The first day it rained most of the day. We were running on such little sleep, I’m not sure how we were functioning. It was about 2pm and both Dan and I decided we’ve reached our coffee threshold. We explored a ton of the town that day, Hanna let Dan borrow her Leica for the trip as well. He was super hyped on that. After our lunch at Shindig, we headed to more shops.

We ended the night by heading to the local supermarket for firewood and watched a movie with the warmth of the fire behind us.

The next morning, we were up early again. Hanna and I had stopped at the Phoenicia Diner the last time we were in the Catskills but never actually purchased any food, just their merch. I still find that a funny story. Anyways, we headed there for breakfast that morning, but on the way, stopped at the Ashokan Reservoir for some photos. The reflection was incredible. After Dan and I photographed our faux Subaru ad, we were back on the road to the diner.

After breakfast, we headed to the largest kaleidoscope in the United States, the Emerson Kaleidoscope. And with a super last minute decision, headed to Rail Explorers to pedal a rail car on the train tracks for eight miles.

I’m going to miss this trip, as it really allowed us to slow down and not be in the hustle and bustle of Philadelphia. We can’t wait to head back there again. Till next time, Woodstock!
